MOTION LOOM
Design in Motion
A free, browser-based animation suite. Storyboard, 2D animate, 3D design, and edit video all in one place.
No install. No sign-up. Just open in a modern browser and start creating.
These tools are experimental and still just prototypes.
Tip: Each app has a built-in Documentation or Help button on its start screen. Open it for the full list of shortcuts, tips, and feature guides before you dive in.
The Apps
Storyboard 2D Drawing
A digital storyboarding tool for planning animation sequences panel by panel. Draw on a freehand canvas, organise panels into scenes, set timing, add dialog and action notes, and sync to audio.
- Multiple brush types - round, square, pressure-sensitive
- Layers per panel with visibility toggle and copy/paste
- Scene and panel management with thumbnail strip navigation
- Audio timeline with waveform display
- Dialog and action notes per panel
- Export to PNG, PNG sequence, GIF, H.264 video, and PDF

2D Design Animation
A vector animation tool with a full keyframe timeline, SVG-based shape drawing, motion paths, expressions, a visual node-graph effect system, and multi-scene composition. The main animation powerhouse of the suite.
- Pen, direct select, rect, ellipse, line, and text tools
- Spatial bezier motion paths with tangent handles
- Keyframe timeline with graph editor and work area markers
- Expressions (wiggle, loop, math, clamp)
- 2.5D depth with Z, Rotation X/Y per layer
- Node-graph effects: blur, shadow, glow, gradient fill, trim path
- Onion skin and lightbox for frame-by-frame reference
- Multi-scene composition with sub-scene (pre-comp) support

3D Design 3D
A browser-based 3D design tool with a real-time 3D viewport, node-based effect system, geometry modifiers, and boolean operations. Build, stylise, and export 3D compositions without installing anything.
- Primitives: cube, sphere, cylinder, cone, torus, plane, capsule, star, rounded box
- Node graph for connecting shapes to effects and modifiers
- Modifiers: twist, bend, taper, noise, smooth, inflate
- Boolean operations: union, subtract, intersect

- Project files are JSON under the hood, so they are human-readable and version-control friendly
Undo and Redo
- Ctrl+Z to undo
- Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y to redo (varies by app)
- All apps support up to 50 undo steps
